Adriana Soto Valentín is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus. She is specializing in the area of Power Systems. Adriana is an undergraduate student currently working, under the surpervison of Dr. Domingo Rodríguez, in the Automated Information Processing Laboratory (AIPLab).
Time-Frequency Based Feature Extraction for Power Line Quality Assessment.
This ongoing research deals with the problem of developing on-line power quality assessment tools using computational signal processing algorithms for feature extraction based on time-frequency power line signal analysis methods.
Currently working on the development of feature extraction techniques under the SIRLAB framework, as well as the elaboration of a Time-Frequency Signal Analysis System in order to monitor the occurrence of power quality disturbances. Also working on the implementation of C-based signal processing algorithms to provide signal metrics which evaluate the set of power disturbances commonly experienced in power line environment.
Advisor: Prof. Domingo Rodríguez
